Called a "savvy Austin lawyer" by the New York Times (November 16, 1995) for her efforts in obtaining a then-controversial registration from the Texas Water Commission to allow treated New York City sewage sludge to be land applied on West Texas Rangeland, Ms. Potts is no stranger to controversy or challenges. Ms. Potts, a native Texan, represents political subdivisions, companies and individuals before the Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission (TNRCC), the Texas Legislature, and in state and federal courts for solid waste transportation, transfer, landfill and recycling issues; water quality, wastewater and water rights issues; water rate litigation; sludge registrations and permits; hazardous and municipal solid waste permits; and underground storage tank matters. Ms. Potts also represents clients before the legislature and other state and federal agencies on various administrative law issues. Ms. Potts also has an interest in the poverty-stricken colonias along the Texas border, and she volunteers a great deal of her time working toward a sustainable solution to provide economic growth to those areas.
